Once, there lived a turtle in a pound. He was a very simple and sober but very talkative. He often broke into foolish conversations with others. Two swans visited that pond often. The swans were very friendly and nice. They became pals of the turtle.
One year, there was a severe drought. The pond began drying up. The turtle was in trouble. It was the question of life and death. He asked his swan friends for help.
The swans suggested, “There is a lake fifty miles away. You will be safe there. “The turtle sighed, “How will I reach a lack so far?” The swans brought a small stick and said.” Friend, we two will fly holding the ends of this stick in our beaks. You shall hold the stick in your mouth during the flight otherwise you will fall down.” Soon, the three got up in the air in that way. The swans held the stick ends and the turtle hung by it.
As they flew over a town the people below saw the strange scene. When the turtle found so many people looking at them, he croaked in excitement, “LOOK; How many people are watching us;’’ As soon as he opened his mouth he fell down and died as he hit the ground.
